The lab results from my Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) Test on July 30, 2025, was down to 3.73. On September 4, 2024, it was 5.38. On March 27, 2025, it was 4.18, and yesterday, Wednesday July 30, 2025, it was 3.73.
Here’s a graph of how my PSA has trended since 2019.

One reason to test PSA levels is to track how therapies are working to fight the cancer. The battle is not over, and I realize that it will never end. I understand that I will die. Cancer may get me or any one of a million ways to die in the west. Regardless, I’m taking Andy Dufresne’s advice that he gave Red in The Shawshank Redemption. “You can either get busy living or get busy dying.” For now, I’m busy living.
C. S. Lewis said, “Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.” I’m following C. S. Lewis’ belief that Christianity is infinitely important.
On Independence Day a friend asked, “How is your therapy going?” Since traditional therapies involve radiation and chemo, I felt like he was asking how those were progressing. We were not where I could explain my alternative therapies to “traditional” ones. So, here are the “therapies” that I’ve adopted in the past few months since my prostate cancer diagnosis:
- A lot of prayers from a lot of friends and family
- Reducing stress
- Alkaline water
- Fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts, legumes (no animal protein, sugar, processed food, or alcohol)
- Vitamin C
- Zinc with Quercetin
- Magnesium
- Vitamin D
- Ivermectin
- Fenbendazole
- Garlic
- Turmeric
- Oil of Oregano and black seed oil
- Multi-vitamins including Omega 3
- Celtic salt
- Fasting
- Exercise – walking (with dumbbells) at 6 AM, rowing at 5 PM, working out with dumbbells after rowing, stretching, foam rolling, and golf whenever possible.
- Reading and research
- This blog
Yesterday’s PSA results, I pray, indicate that these therapies are in fact working. I will continue to research, measure, refine, and perhaps find additional therapies in the future.
I’m looking at another tool to monitor how my therapy is progressing. Rather than wait for a doctor to order specific lab tests I can obtain over 100 tests on my own whenever I want. It is Quest Diagnostics. Here is the information if you’re interested.

My goal is to enable my God given immune system to successfully fight my cancer. God did his part by providing this exquisite system. It is my part to operate God’s system correctly. I obviously wasn’t doing that before. I pray that I am now on the right path.
Strengthening my immune system with chemicals derived from fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts, and legumes, I believe are better therapies than killing my immune system with radiation and chemotherapy.
From the Hallelujah Diet website article, God’s Protection: Our Immune System are listed the “Primary Ingredients For A Healthy Body and Immune System.” They list three factors:
- Diet
- Exercise
- Stress management
Mind Body & Soul – Blood Sweat & Tears
I would characterize diet, exercise, and stress management as mind, body, and soul. Take care of your mind through stress management and giving your problems to God, feeding your body with raw fruits and vegetables, seeds and nuts, especially when supplemented with lots of fresh vegetable juices, and exercising those toxins out of your body through literally blood, sweat, and tears. Oxygenating your blood through exercise will eliminate your toxins out of your pores, tears, and urine.
I understand those who will never change their lifestyle to such dramatic levels as mine listed above. I understand that you’ve chosen your lifestyle and enjoy it immensely. It’s what makes life worth living. I guess that I’m too much of a coward to continue eating and drinking all sorts of junk at all hours of the day and night. There’s no judgement, I pray that we’re all going to end up at the same place eventually. I’m just going to be the healthy one with good skin and teeth.
I’ve learned a few things, like don’t drink fresh broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber, carrot juice and go play golf. Fortunately, there were adequate facilities to accommodate my need for adequate facilities. If you ever feel the need to purge your intestines I’ve got the juice for you.
Strangely, I enjoy the walk in the early morning sunshine. I enjoy feeling light and not bloated. I enjoy a breakfast of fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice straight from the juicer. I enjoy fresh vegetables on a salad of greens and nuts. And I really enjoy taking my blood pressure every morning and finding that it is lower than when I was taking three blood pressure medications, not to mention that I’ve lost almost 40 pounds. I don’t feel like I’ve done anything to have shed the pounds, it’s just been doing something different.
Most of all I enjoy the calm. I’ve given everything to God and I’m just along for the sublime ride. John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
I’m meeting with a second opinion urologist tomorrow morning. Next up urologist report.
