If you or someone you love has cancer, then you have probably searched the Internet for therapies and cures. Instantly you are targeted by the world wide web. You might as well have painted a target on your computer or smart phone.
Your social media becomes inundated with blogs, podcasts, and posts trying to sell you books, vitamins, additives, therapies, pharmaceuticals, anything and everything that kills or cures cancer. What can or can’t you believe?
The images above are copied from my social media. They all tout some way or another that kills cancer. If all the products and therapies advertised to kill cancer worked, then why are almost 700,000 Americans dying each year? Why is anyone dying from cancer?
Here are the top nine leading causes of death in the United States according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics:[1]
- Heart disease: 680,981
- Cancer: 613,352
- Accidents (unintentional injuries): 222,698
- Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 162,639
- Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 145,357
- Alzheimer’s disease: 114,034
- Diabetes: 95,190
- Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 55,253
- Chronic liver disease and cirrhosis: 52,222
I am in the process of surviving aggressive prostate cancer and this is what I believe:
- Cancer is made up of cells within your body that for some reason become mutated.
- Your DNA is unique to you.
- Cancer therapies that are effective for someone else may not be effective for you.
- You contract cancer in two ways: genetically, or environmentally.
- After a successful cancer therapy, you will have cancer again unless you change the factors cited above (genetics or environment).
- Your body has an autoimmune system.
- Doctors know very little.
- Prayer works.
What caused your healthy cells to mutate into cancer? Did you inherit the gene that causes this? If so, you’ll need to change your genetics by removing your cancer-producing gene. Here is a link to The Current Status of Gene Therapy for the Treatment of Cancer.
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7987258/
The idea is to change the cancer producing genes from your body this removing what creates mutated cells.
The other cancer producer is the environment. Have you been exposed to carcinogens? It seems like everything these days is carcinogenic. What we breathe, eat, drink, touch, see, or hear has some potential to mutate our otherwise healthy cells. To prevent cancer or its recurrence you must refrain from carcinogenic exposures.
Your DNA is unique to you. When I take a certain over the counter drug it affects me one way. When my daughter takes the same drug, it affects her completely opposite. From this I extrapolate that the same is true for cancer treatment. A cancer treatment that works for me may not have any effect on my daughter. So, I ask, “Why do we treat every cancer patient the same?” It seems that surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy are currently the only options for everyone. I know that I am over generalizing but these are basically the only therapies available.
I understand that time is of the essence as doctors work quickly to “cure” the patient before cancer claims another statistic for the CDC. In my case my doctor took a biopsy from my infected prostate. I assume that the same is true for everyone diagnosed with cancer, otherwise how are they diagnosed?
Why not take that cancer tissue and subject it to rigorous examination to determine effective treatments to kill or de-mutantize the cell and what caused it to mutate to begin with? Once you render the mutant safe then you adjust your lifestyle to avoid another carcinogenic exposure.
But the reality is . . .
A doctor will diagnose your cancer and then begin directing your treatments. You will be forced into making decisions often will little time or information to be confident that you’ve chosen wisely.
As you research you will become inundated with claims of what will kill your cancer. It seems that each subsequent claim will contradict the former. What do you do, who do you believe? I wish that I could answer those two questions. My best answer is do everything you can to investigate all aspects so that you may be confident in making an educated decision on how to proceed.
I cannot stress the importance of prayer. I am very blessed to have fabulous friends and family who have prayed relentlessly for my complete recovery, easy, pain free, and successful surgery. They prayed for me, my doctors, nurses, and everyone involved with my therapy. I am living proof of the power of prayer. Do not forget God in your fight to destroy cancer.
I do not know what kills cancer. We are all unique. What works for me may not work for you. There are guidelines however that may position you to better fight your cancer: diet, exercise, clean air, clean water, sunlight, and prayer. Check out my book page for a bibliography that may educate you as you conduct your own wellness expedition.
I’m learning that your mitochondria plays an important part in health. Mitochondria is present in every one of your cells. I’ve read how our mitochondria influences glycogen (sugar) and energy. Whatever produces healthy cells including the mitochondria therein should, in my mind, produce healthy outcomes. I’m researching how I can make my cells healthier. Our cells are our foundation, our building blocks of our body. I want a firm foundation upon which to build my body.
I always go back to Bruce Lee’s philosophy, “Research your own experience, absorb what is useful, reject what is useless, add what is specifically your own.” This is the best advice I can provide. You are surrounded by family, friends, associates, doctors, physician assistants, nurses, and random people all with successful cancer therapy from someone they know, some anecdote, something they’ve read on social media, or what they’ve learned in school or through their experience. At the end of the day or your life it’s your decision to make.
